To find ESG pioneers who can solve specific problems and create high-quality ESG examples for corporate development, Wall Street News, a leading Chinese internet finance and business information provider, has officially launched the "2022 ESG Annual Innovation List". After collecting submissions from across the web and conducting a fair and transparent evaluation, Wall Street News has selected 20 ESG cases from across China. GEM has successfully made the list with its "GEM Resource Recycling, Carbon Reduction, and Pollution Control Project", as an innovative case in the field of environmental protection.
The "GEM Resource Recycling, Carbon Reduction, and Pollution Control Project" focuses on two core businesses: "new energy materials manufacturing + urban mining". Taking the opportunity of the circular economy, GEM has built an urban mining system and a new energy material manufacturing system that spans from waste resource recovery, green environmental protection processing, to the recycling and regeneration of high-end green products. This is actively promoting the strategic goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. Meanwhile, through upgrading and renovating environmental protection facilities, recycling waste resources, partially reducing pollutant emissions, and standardizing solid waste disposal, GEM is striving to become a leading green, low-carbon and environmentally-friendly enterprise in China.
GEM's development strategy is driven by the dual tracks of "new energy material manufacturing + urban mining".
Based on GEM's outstanding contribution in the ESG field of environmental protection, the judging panel gave high praise, stating that "this project actively builds a green and circular urban mining system and a new energy material manufacturing system, creating a green, low-carbon and environmentally-friendly enterprise, and is an ESG model for economic transformation." This fully recognizes GEM's advanced concept of sustainable development and its positive contributions to environmental protection. GEM's practical achievements provide a set of advanced and replicable circular economy solutions for peers both domestically and abroad, and inject a boost into the high-speed development of the world's circular economy.
